RMG Cares and Lends a Helping Hand for a Great Cause

RMG - Rocky Mountain Group is honored to have participated with the Local Colorado Springs, Housing & Building Association through their philanthropic arm “HBA Cares”, on the John Zay House expansion project. RMG donated most of the structural design work required on the project.

The Penrose St. Francis Health Foundation and Penrose St. Francis Health Services made the announcement regarding construction of the expansion and it’s anticipated to take approximately 15 months, with the opening of the new space currently scheduled for mid-October, 2017. HBA Cares coordinated and secured $500,000 donated services and materials for this important project, which was funded entirely by philanthropic donations made by individual donors, local area foundations and donated resources and talent by local businesses.

Located across the street from Penrose Hospital, this home away from home provides respite for patients and their families living more than 30 miles outside of Colorado Springs. The Guest House was named in honor of John Zay, a cancer floor chaplain at Penrose Hospital for more than 14 years. In the eight years since opening, the John Zay Guest House is almost always full, with a consistent waiting list of 7 to 10 parties. There have been as much-needed expansion project of the original John Zay Guest House.
