STRUCTURAL INVESTIGATIONS AND OBSERVATIONS

RMG Engineers can conduct a thorough site visit to assess the entire building. Since the structural components of a building function together as a unified system, we will examine the whole structure, irrespective of the size or location of any damage. Our findings and analysis will be detailed in a written report, including our conceptual recommendations for necessary remediation. For minor repairs, the report can be provided to a contractor for cost estimates. For more extensive repairs, we can prepare detailed design and construction drawings.

SOILS INVESTIGATIONS AND FOUNDATION REPAIRS

When structural movement is substantial, RMG Engineers can conduct a comprehensive structural and soils investigation. This process goes beyond visual inspections and typically involves soil test borings to assess the supporting soils, as well as an elevation survey to gauge the vertical movement across the structure. The data collected from these investigations is used to develop a repair plan tailored to support the structure effectively. This plan can then be presented to contractors for bidding and to obtain the necessary building permits.

DAMAGE INVESTIGATIONS AND REPAIRS

In the event of damage caused by "Acts of God"—such as vehicle impact, fire, flood, or falling trees—RMG Engineers can collaborate with insurance companies to assess the extent of the damage. We will develop detailed plans for repairs and monitoring the construction process for compliance so the structure is restored to its intended integrity.

Flooding and water seepage are significant concerns for basement construction, particularly due to the frequent heavy rain and thunderstorms in Colorado. RMG Engineers can evaluate the sources of water intrusion and recommend effective mitigation strategies. This may involve improving surface slopes, installing drain collection systems, or maintaining existing drainage systems.
