City Administration Building Parking Garage

SERVICES RMG ENGINEERS PROVIDED FOR THIS PROJECT

We pride ourselves on the artistry we bring to our projects. This was especially evident in the work we did on the Colorado Springs’ City Administration building’s parking structure. Members of the community had lodged complaints about the garage, specifically noting that it did not blend in with the urban environment where it was located. Our team brought its collective creativity and eye for aesthetics to the project beginning with the choose of materials. The primary materials used in construction included load bearing precast with thin brick and architectural precast components that mimicked other surrounding buildings exterior finishes. We designed the first floor to appear as a typical storefront to the passing pedestrian, which was not only visually appealing but it also allowed for future retail around the exterior zone. BIM Design was used from concept to design. Analysis and reinforcing of the existing garage were also required due to the addition of a partial upper level and the removal of the lateral bracing system.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
